Deeper Questions

What do you do at IOI?

I work as an Environment artist. A big part of the job is of course to build and compose the environments in the game. But I also create individual 3d assets, textures, etc.

What's a feature you're proud to have added to HITMAN?

I worked on HITMAN 3. I think the stuff I’m most proud of is the areas I worked on in Mendoza. It was the first time I got to take something from block out to finished environments and I learned a ton working on those.

Can you tell us more about yourself?

I’m from Sweden, I moved to Malmö 2013 to study game art and been living here since. I always have a hobby that I’m 100% dedicated to. However, eventually I get bored at it and swap it out every third year or so. Birdwatching, Painting Warhammer and photography is a few of the hobbies that have kept me occupied. These days I enjoy snowboarding in the winter and disc golf in the summer.

What's your daily source of inspiration?

I often listen to music or audiobook at work, but I get my daily source of inspiration from everywhere really. Nature, movies, videogames, cool stuff on Artstation etc.

Why are you passionate about what you do?

I just love creating art and building worlds. Taking something from concept to a final environment that I eventually get to see people play. There’s nothing more rewarding.

What projects do you work on outside of work?

Well, my hobbies are my projects. Right now I have an unfinished warband for Warhammer that I need to get painted.

What's your most memorable IOI moment?

The launch of HITMAN 3. It was the first project that I got to work on here at IOI and so seeing people finally get their hand on it and play it was amazing.

What's the best bit of advice you've ever been given?

“Allow yourself to fail.” Cliché, I know.. but it’s so important to mess up sometimes in order to grow.
