Quick Questions

PC or console

PC. The older I get the more I start using my consoles as well but PC will always be my favorite platform.

Go-to karaoke song

I constantly sing or hum on melodies but I would never sing karaoke!

Favorite Hitman map and why

I’d say Hokkaido. The setting is super cool and the way keys are used (or not used) on that map is really interesting.

Meal that reminds you of childhood

Fläskpannkaka. It’s like a thick pancake with pork cooked in a roasting pan. Served with lingonberry jam and shredded carrots.

Your secret superpower?

I’m very good at geeking out on a subject. If I find something I think is cool I will focus 100% of my time on it trying to master it.

Most and least favorite items on your desk

Favorite thing has to be my noise cancelling headphones. I get so easily distracted so they really help me focus. The least favorite thing is the empty coffee cup.

Something you wish you knew more about

Anything and everything! I love learning new things. I can watch hour long documentaries on super specific topics that I didn’t even know existed 5 min earlier.

Recommend three books, games or movies

Three Games:
1. It Takes Two
2. Outer Wilds
3. Hell Let Loose

Deeper Questions

What do you do at IOI?

I’m a Level Designer working on Hitman. Usually that would mean I design the maps, the mission stories, and NPC’s behaviors on those maps. However I’m currently working on Freelancer, and do more system design and technical setups for the game mode.

Can you tell us more about yourself?

I’m from Sweden and have been in the games industry since 2015. My passions are gaming, food, music, and powerlifting. I was planning to become a sound technician before I realized that you can actually make video games for a living! So I changed my plans and started at a level design education.

What's your daily source of inspiration?

Playing different types of games and discussing all things games with my colleagues. Also thinking about what the players want and making sure that I build something that they will love experiencing.

Why are you passionate about what you do?

I love challenging myself both within design and in technical problems. It’s also super rewarding to create something and then watch or read the communities reactions to it once they get their hands on it.

What projects do you work on outside of work?

I’d say my main project outside of work is working on my powerlifting. I also think a lot about ideas for games that I’ve written down. Hopefully I’ll find the time to work on one of those ideas soon.

What's your most memorable IOI moment?

Shipping HITMAN III. I’ve been a huge fan of the franchise since Codename 47 so getting the chance to be a part the production was like a dream come true. Watching people play a Hitman game that I helped make was a really cool feeling!

What's the best bit of advice you've ever been given?

I think one of the best advice I’ve got is to not let work be the most important part of my life. Even though I absolutely love making games I always try to make sure to not work more than I should so I can take the time to spend with my family or hobbies. It’s an important balance that needs to be cared for.
